Founded in March 1976, Industrial Chemicals Limited evolved from an Essex transportation company into a national manufacturer and trader of industrial chemicals. Headquartered in Warley, with seven UK locations and over 450 employees, the company serves a global client base, handling over one million tonnes of specialty chemicals each year.
We supply a wide range of products to various industries, including many well-known household brands. Candidates will be expected to have read the job description for the position they are applying for. There is an expectation that individuals will have a basic understanding ofICL, what the Company does, its values and history. It is recommended that candidates also prepare their own questions for hiring managers when they attend their interview.
This may vary slightly for each vacancy, however for the majority of roles the recruitment will be a two-stage process, whereby an individual may be interviewed once with the relevant hiring manager and will be asked to return for a 2nd interview and / or site tour if successful in the first stage. Confirmation will then be provided as to whether an offer of employment will be made.\
For our HGV Class 1 and 2 Driver positions, candidates will attend an interviewcomprising of an aptitude test andmultiple-choicequestionnaire. If successful,candidates will be requested to return and complete a driving assessment with one ofour Foreman Drivers. If successful, you will be contacted to confirm whether you weresuccessful or unsuccessful on this occasion.

We recommend a smart-casual attire for candidates when attending job interviews. Candidates may wish to bring their own Personal Protection Equipment(PPE)if desired, however this is not a requirement; ICL supply their own PPE which is available to both staff and visitors.
Remote interviews can be conducted; however candidates will be expected to attend the site of the role they are applying for prior to an offer being made and typically as part of a 2nd stage interview
We do not reimburse travel costs related to attending interviews unless specifically agreed in advance.
You will be asked a range of competence-based questions and be asked to discuss previous experience you have acquired (both professional and educational) that are applicable to the role you are applying for.
Candidates will be given the opportunity at the end of the interview to ask questions which may be specifically related to the position, such as flexibility around working hours, or regardingICL, such as the Company’s culture, social events etc.
If your application is successful, we will contact you directly (or via an Agency, whereapplicable) to confirm that an offer of employment is being made. You will also receive further information regarding the Terms and Conditions of your employment, such as remuneration, benefits etc. If you confirm acceptance of the offer made, you will be sent an electronic copy of your Contract of Employment, which will then be sent directly in the post to your home address. All applicants who apply directly will receive a response either way no more than 2 weeks from the final interview.
